(2) The old fans might have been placed on tables, so they did not require a longer stand.

(3) The light bulb was probably used to prevent injuries. With a cover now, it is no longer necessary.

(1) Is it possible to invent a fan that will not cause any injuries? Like what the Dyson fan is!

(2) Maybe we stopped putting fans on our table to save some space. If we also want to save space on the floor, maybe we will invent floating fans.

(3) The changes are mostly for safety in the past evolvement. Since we already have Dyson fans, maybe we will focus on reducing the size of the fan in the next century?
